Thorsten Beyerlein is the founder of the law firm Beyerlein Attorneys. After studying law and economics at the University of Passau, during his two-year traineeship, he worked at an international business law firm in Frankfurt - in the fields of intellectual property and litigation - and received further training at the German Federal Patent Court as well as in Tokio, Japan.

After his second state examination, he continued at the international business law firm. In 2007, he joined a law firm specialized in IP in Munich, becoming Partner in 2008 before founding Beyerlein Attorneys in 2010. Since 2007, Thorsten Beyerlein is board certified IP lawyer and since 2009 he is member of GRUR - the Expert Committee for Design Law.

Since 2011 Thorsten Beyerlein is adjunct professor at the Duale Hochschule in Mannheim.

From the beginning of his career, Thorsten Beyerlein specialized in IP and related legal fields. Many publications and talks in Germany and internationally reflect his expertise. Thorsten Beyerlein is co-editor of the "Commentary on Design Law" ("Kommentar zum Geschmacksmustergesetz") - published by WRP (law-journal on competition law and practice), the "Commentary on Consumer Information Law" ("Kommentar zum Verbraucherinformationsgesetz", VIG) - published by C.H. Beck, as well as several books of the "Heidelberg Series of Sample Contracts" ("Heidelberger Musterverträge").

Due to his extensive experience regarding scientific and technical issues, Thorsten Beyerlein represents innovative companies in the life sciences and nanotechnology as well as companies in more established industrial sectors such as the engineering and chemical industries.

A report in JUVE 2009/2010 on Regulated Industries/Healthcare referred to Thorsten Beyerlein as "frequently recommended lawyer".
